Percy Jackson – The hair-raising mythos

WE ARE A-D-H-D FELLOW –this line makes my flesh crawl many times I read this book. An extremely impressive book containing accounts of greek heroes, demigods, gods and goddesses especially the influential portrayal of Percy Jackson, who, unlike other demigods enjoyed happy ending in his life. Rick Riordian blended comedy extremely well with some blood-curdling experiences.

Let me preface this with an apology. If I sound tongue-tied at times in this review, I am nearly helpless. My mind is completely frizzled.

Being a Potter-paramour I’ve always had some kind of keenness towards creative fiction until Persy Jackson made it’s way to me. Percy Jackson and the Greek heroes book imbibed with combative, bellicose accounts among which the beheading of Medusa is extremely tantalizing, followed by the advantage of the head to stonify Percy’s rivals. The dramatic love of Psyche, the lusty attire of Eros, Theseus’s dispatching of Asterion-the bull cum human, Otrera’s potent symbols of feminism, Daedalus’s ingenious constructions touched every bit of my heart and it was quite uneasy for me to close the book. Among all those first person narratives Annabeth was not put as damsel-in-distress, she was equally valued for her quick-witted opinions.

The incidents of the book are wholly absorbing. A reader is allowed to have insights into the inner thoughts, frights and intents of demigods. The vivid descriptions of decapitations, mutilations, mystical world and most importantly go over important details without drawing out lengthy conversations. All climax naturally in scenes of violence and tumult are mostly followed by a retreat literally as well as figuratively. Most of the Greek mythological stories I’ve read before but from Percy’s perspective everything served with freshness, vigour and power .

I give the book five stars since I think it’s important to know historical figures and the insights into evolution in matters of life, love, mutuality, war, diplomacy and peace.
